Sprinkler Blowouts on the YouTube

Took this video of a sprinkler head getting blown out and it made me think of a very important step that is overlooked by a lot of “blowout professionals.”

In the spring do you ever find sprinkler heads with cracks down the side but can’t figure out why since you know they were blown out the previous fall?  Well there is an extra STEP (pun) you must take on EVERY sprinkler head that is hooked up through the side inlet.  Do you know which heads those are?  We do.

The quick explanation is that the compressed air you’re using takes the quickest way out of the sprinkler head. So if it is hooked up through the side inlet it still leaves half (the bottom half) of the sprinkler head full of water. If you watch the attached video you’ll see that you have to wait until the head is completely blowing air and then you need to STEP on it to get the water out of the bottom half.

And that is why you call Best Irrigation
