Checking In

Busy Busy Busy.

Lawns started turning brown so we have been busy running around taking care of all the coverage issues and broken heads that really get noticed this time of year. How about a tip of the day? Many customers start complaining during a dry month that even though they keep running their sprinklers longer and longer they can’t seem to get enough water into the lawn. Try running a cycle and soak program! If you are running 30 minutes per zone try splitting that in half and running it for 15 minutes in back to back cycles. The soil can only take so much water at once. Once it becomes saturated it starts to run off and then you’re just wasting water. If you run back to back cycles with the run times split in half you are able to give the first cycle a chances to soak in before your cycle around for round 2. Remember… deep less frequent waterings are better than those frequent shallow mistings!

Alright… If you sat through that lecture you’ve deserved a couple videos. We have one up on YouTube of our first rain day in a while. On Facebook we put up a short clip of us messing around on a repair.

Don’t forget… follow us on Twitter for the little 140 character updates in between blogs.

We’ve been using commercial remote controls to handle all our large commercial accounts for a few years now.  These remotes save us hours because we can instantly turn on and off any zone from miles away.  This saves us tons of walking and helps us check out every inch of the sprinkler systems.

Thanks to a new technique we picked up this year we can make all of our residential systems remote ready no matter the controller.  At your next visit we wire in a permanent setup to your controller so that it can be controlled by our universal remote control every time after that.

At your special request we can take a few extra minutes and can wire in the connection so we can control the sprinklers without having to get access to either the garage or basement.  Think how nice it’d be not to have to wait for the sprinkler guy anymore!

We posted a video of the remote in action on both our facebook page (become a fan) and youtube (subscribe).  You can see how we can check out three zones as fast as it would take to walk to the timer and back.  Plus you don’t have to worry about dirty sprinkler socks going in and out of the house a dozen times to get to the basement.
