How to Adjust a Hunter PGP
Well let’s start with the Hunter PGP since we’ve installed more of those than any other sprinkler. If you have a specific sprinkler in your yard you want me to cover, shoot me a note. It’d probably be a good idea to grab a PGP Rotary Sprinkler Adjustment Kit from Hunter and attach it to your controller so that you have it ready in an adjusting emergency.
The two major adjustments you can make are radius (distance) and arc.
1) To adjust the distance of throw you take the metal allen wrench end of you adjustment tool and stick it in the arrow until you feel it go snug into the slot. To shorten the throw, turn the screw clockwise into the stream. Turning the screw counter-clockwise will increase the distance (careful not to back the screw out too far).

2) The big trick to adjusting the arc is remembering you can’t adjust how far it moves to the right with your tool. Before you start with the tool you need to make sure it stops where you want when going to the right. You do this by making small adjustments by grabbing the stem and turning it left or right. Every time you want to check the stop to the right you have to turn the rotor all the way to the left before you can turn it back. When you are ready to make your adjustments to the left you need to stick the plastic end of your hunter adjustment tool into the hole bordered by the “+” and “-” symbols. When you turn your tool clockwise you will add distance to the left. Turning your tool counter-clockwise will make the rotor have a shorter arc. The + and – are there to help you remember but are hard to see when covered in dirt.
